Microsoft's Security Essentials appears to be doing the job, especially when combined with the already installed Firewall on XP, Vista and Windows 7. If you are tired of slow, sluggish and nonresponsive computing because of too many firewall, antispyware/malware programs, try MS Security Essentials and enjoy your computer, again. : ) Microsoft is also offering another FREE feature for anyone concerned about Windows Security: Threat Research and Response Center: Scan your computer for Spyware at Microsoft's Malware Protection Center (the portals main page).

We may have stumbled on to an excellent "panic button" idea that is probably already well known. But, we are so excited that we would like to share it with everyone:
Wireless doorbell chimes are available at major hardware and variety stores and cost less than $20.00; included is a self-stick doorbell button that can be mounted on the dresser or even bed frame of a sick friend. When your help is needed, they press the "panic" button and the chime, which is plugged in to a wall outlet in an area within earshot, sounds LOUDLY enough to get the attention of almost anyone. Great idea if you are in the same home or building and within wireless range.
I'm recommending a bit of skepticism at some of the Blog statements which are presented as facts. Do the research before you take a strong, emotionally charged stand. Also, recommended for online Authors is a Firewall with Antivirus and Antispyware for Internet Security.

Test your firewall with LeakTest. The Sphinx Vista and Windows 7 Firewall Control will pop-up to allow "deny" for programs like LeakTest. And, that means that nothing gets sent OUT from your PC without your permission. Download the FREE version for either 32 or 64-bit Windows Operating Systems. Recommended with the free version: Place a checkmark in "outgoing only" when the program pops-up with a permissions question, which blocks programs from sending out from your PC, and allows them to run as usual. "Enable All" is recommended for Antivirus and malware detection programs, to allow for updates.
